Tottenham are lining up a surprise £12.9 million move for the Barcelona forward Munir.
According to The Sun, Spurs want to sign the 20-year-old striker who wants out at Barcelona after failing to break into the first team.
Munir is unlikely to feature much for Barcelona this season with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar ahead of him in the pecking order as well as Arda Turan’s return to form.
The Sun also state that Valencia, Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad are interested in signing the young talent.
Per-the-source, Munir’s agent admitted last week that his client’s future could be away from the Nou Camp. “Barcelona told us their intention was to sign a new striker,” Munir’s agent Francesc Valdivieso is quoted as saying by the Sun.
“Munir has to understand that it could compromise his sporting chances and stack things against him. “I can’t guarantee Munir will be a Barcelona player on September 1.”
Munir scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 26 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season. Barcelona take on Athletic Bilbao this weekend in the Spanish league as they continue their title defense.
