West Ham have had their odds to sign Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony slashed by the bookmakers.
Skybet have made the Hammers 1.40 favourites to sign the Ivory Coast international.
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is facing a defensive crisis with record summer transfer Andew Ayew sidelined and Andy Carroll also injured.
Bilic has revealed that he is fond of Bony, praising the experienced striker and while he did not confirm an offer he did hint at interest.
“Injuries? Transfers? We will try to get one in and the chairmen will be very generous if we can,” he said after the Bournemouth speaking to Sky Sports cameras.
“Bony is a good player – but we will speak on Monday. If we get one it’s got to be a good one. But if not I have the squad that will fight for West Ham big time.”
The Daily Mail report that the Hammers have made City an enquiry regarding loaning striker.
The report claims that Bony is expected to leave City over the summer as part of Pep Guardiola’s ruthless cull including several experienced members of the squad.
The Hammers could however, face competition from Arsenal who despite priced at 9.00 to sign Bony are being linked with a £30 million move according to the Daily Star.
A source close to the Besiktas told Emre Sarigul that the Black Eagles also have Bony on their shortlist along with Ghana international Gyan and Chelsea forward Loic Remy.
