Arsenal transfer news: Defensive target nears Man City exit

Jason Denayer’s Manchester City future has been cast in doubt after the Belgium international was absent from training according to the Turkish outlet Milliyet.

Per-the-source, the 21-year-old defender missed todays session despite not being injured.

Arsenal are locked in a race with Galatasaray to secure the signature of Denayer according to The Sun.

Arsenal are currently facing a defensive crisis following injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel. The Gunners have been forced to field the young defender Rob Holding in their opening two games of the Premier league.

Despite joining Manchester City in 2013 from JMG Lie, the Belgium international is yet to make a Premier League appearances for the Citizens.

The Sun goes onto say that Galatasaray are currently leading the race for the young defender. Denayer is no stranger to the Turkish league after establishing himself as a first team favourite at Galatasaray last season.

Denayer made 28 appearances for the Istanbul giants in all competitions last season.
