Atletico Madrid to launch €20m bid for Arsenal target, agent confirms interest in free-kick maestro

La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have entered the race for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder according to his agent Bektas Demirtas.

Speaking to SPORT BILD Demirtas was quoted as saying: “There are always offers for Hakan, there are always enquiries.”

Demirtas did however, state that he thinks it is unlikely that the Turkish international leaves Bayer this summer although he did not completely rule it out.

“I can not imagine that he still goes into the transfer window to me,” he added.

Atleti are prepared to pay €20 million for the Turkish intentional attacking midfielder according to sports newspaper AMK.

 

The report claims that Bayer are open to cashing in on Calhanoglu if their valuation is met. The German giants are however, in no rush to sign the 22-year-old considering he has another three-years remaining on his contract.

Premier League giants Arsenal are also in the race for Calhanoglu according to TalkSport.

Per the source, the Bundesliga outfit are considering cashing in on their star man if their valuation is met.

Calhanoglu scored 11 direct set-piece goals in the Bundesliga alone establshing himself as one of the most feared free kick specialists in European football.

The Turkey international made the move to Leverkusen from from Hamburg for €14.5m in 2014. Calhanoglu is well known for his free-kick and has gone on to score 11 direct set-piece goals in the Bundesliga alone.
