Tottenham set to complete third summer signing this week as 21-year-old takes part in last training session

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of completing the signing of Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez with negotiations set to conclude this week.

The 21-year-old participated in training on Monday as talks between the two clubs continue over his transfer, but AS believe that there could be a significant breakthrough on Tuesday.

The Premier League outfit have seemingly offered the figures that Espanyol have demanded, and the shot-stopper will take part in his last training session with Quique Sanchez Flores.

It’s reported that Spurs will pay €600,000 to take the Spaniard to White Hart Lane on loan for this season, with an option to purchase him at the end of the campaign for €7m.

However, it’s added that the La Liga side have included a clause in the deal that would see Spurs pay a compensation fee should they decide not to exercise that option to buy.

Nevertheless, AS claim that Lopez will be in London in the coming days to complete his move and fulfil his ambition of playing in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to act in the transfer market after first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris picked up an injury just over a week ago, with The Daily Mail noting that the French international faces at least a month on the sidelines leaving Michel Vorm as the man to step in and deputise.

It promises to be a busy end to the summer transfer window for the club, with Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen currently the only two new arrivals.
