Tottenham’s out-of-favour defender DeAndre Yedlin is set to drop down to the Championship and join Newcastle United according to Goal.
Per-the-source, Newcastle are set to sign the USA international on a £5 million deal. Yedlin featured for Tottenham during pre-season however, has failed to make a Premier League squad this season. The pacy right-back was pictured arriving at Newcastle Airport on Tuesday.
Both Hull City and Derby were also linked with Yedlin over the summer according to the Daily Mail. The USA international spent last season on loan at Sunderland and is expected to leave the London based club in the search for first-team football.
The USA international joined Tottenham from Seattle Sounders back in August 2014. Yedlin made 25 appearances on loan for Sunderland last season. He also has 39 caps for USA, beginning his international career in a friendly with South Korea in February 2014.
Tottenham take on Liverpool this weekend in their third game of the Premier League season.
