The Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor have been linked with a move for Aston Villa’s England international defender Micah Richards.
Sources close to the club have told Caught-Offsides Eren Sarigul that Trabzonspor are preparing to table a loan bid for the Richards. Per-the-source, the Black Sea based club are unwilling to match Villa’s £4.25m valuation for the 28-year-old.
Trabzonspor boss Ersun Yanal has identified Richards as his primary target as he wants to bolster his defensive options.
The Black Sea Storm are keen to sign a new right-back after offloading the Belgium international Luis Cavanda to Galatasaray earlier this month. Trabzonspor side are looking to build a strong squad for their 50th anniversary season.
Richards scored two goals and provided one assists 28 appearances for Aston Villa last term. The experinced defender was hwoever unable to help his side avoid relegation form the Premier League.
Villa are currently in the Championship and take on Bristol City this weekend.
