(Photo) Palermo fans plead with club to sign Mario Balotelli but Liverpool’s bitter rivals could complete deal

Palermo supporters have displayed a banner at their stadium calling for the club to sign Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli ahead of the transfer deadline.

The 26-year-old was born in Palermo and it appears as though his place of birth could be the next destination in his football career as he has no long-term future at Anfield.

While a number of clubs from around Europe have turned down the Italian forward already this summer, it appears as though the attitude is different in Sicily with the Rosanero faithful putting the banner seen below up at the stadium to show that they want Balotelli at the club.

However, as reported by Football Italia, the player’s agent Mino Raiola has offered his services to rivals Everton as an alternative if they fail in their pursuit of Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli.

In turn, there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Balotelli’s future, but ultimately it does appear as though he may have options after a summer full of rejections and dismissals of interest.

After failing to impress during his loan spell back at AC Milan last season, it has been apparent for some time that he doesn’t figure in Jurgen Klopp’s plans moving forward.

The former Inter and Manchester City star wasn’t part of the club’s pre-season tour and has been training with the youth team since. In turn, he will hope to secure a move elsewhere before the end of the month but will await a club willing to give him another chance to impress at the top level.
