Tottenham transfer news: Spurs finally set to announce £10m signing after summer-long transfer saga

Tottenham will reportedly finally confirm the signing of long-term target Georges-Kevin N’Koudou this week, in a £10m move from Marseille.

The 21-year-old is expected to complete his move to White Hart Lane this week, with Clinton N’Jie moving in the opposite direction and securing a switch to Ligue 1.

It’s been a long process for the pair as they have been forced to wait for the transfer to be finalised, but according to The Sun, their wait is now set to conclude.

N’Koudou scored 10 goals in 36 appearance last season, and will become just the third summer signing from Mauricio Pochettino.

Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen have already arrived in north London, but more activity is expected at Spurs between now and the transfer deadline at the end of the month.

In turn, the new recruits will hope to help the club build on their success last season, while in contrast, N’Jie will secure a season-long loan deal to Marseille with a buy-out clause inserted into the deal.

The 23-year-old joined Spurs last summer, but failed to find the target in 14 appearances in all competitions for Pochettino’s men last season.

As a result, the Argentine tactician will likely be pleased with the move, and will hope that N’Koudou will have a much bigger impact for the club in the coming years.

Spurs finished third in the Premier League last season, and although it’s been a relatively modest summer transfer market, Pochettino will be confident that he’s added what was required to a squad that looked like genuine title contenders for much of the campaign.
