Inter Milan are preparing a £15.4 million bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu according to CalcioMercatoWeb.

The report claims that Frank de Boer who only recently replaced Roberto Mancini wants to bring in the Calhanoglu as he plans last minute changes to the team he inherited from the former Manchester City boss.

Tottenham are also preparing to launch a move the Turkish international according to Sky Sports.

Calhanoglu’s agent, Bektas Demirtas, confirmed Spurs interest to German publication Express on Wednesday: “It is true that Tottenham have registered their interest with me.”

Calhanoglu does have another three-years remaining on his current contract but Bayer do appear to be willing to consider offers that match their valuation.

The young playmaker already has Champions League experience behind him which could come in handy for Spurs who will face CSKA Moscow, Basle and Bayer Leverkusen.

Tottenham could end up taking a star player off their Group E Champions League rivals Bayer if they do go ahead and sign the 22-year-old free-kick maestro who has scored 11 direct set-piece goals in the Bundesliga.
