Liverpool ace threatened with being frozen out if he doesn’t seal exit before deadline

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho reportedly faces being entirely frozen out if he doesn’t secure a move away from the club next week.

The French international is currently training on his own after disciplinary issues have riled boss Jurgen Klopp this summer, and he has yet to feature for the Reds so far this season.

According to The Daily Mail, the 26-year-old won’t be able to repair the damage done to the relationship, and so he’s now considering whether or not to still stay and fight for his place or secure a loan move elsewhere.

Sakho was sent home from the club’s US pre-season tour for poor time-keeping while he was also seen interrupting Klopp during an interview where the tension was clear as the German tactician brought up the lateness, as noted in the Mail report.

In turn, his days at Anfield may well be coming to an end as Stoke City consider a bid for him, although he’ll have to make a decision quickly as Mark Hughes is considering other options in the event that the former PSG defender opts to stay on Merseyside.

Sakho has made 56 Premier League appearances for Liverpool since joining the club in 2013, but the chances of him adding to that tally appear to be slim as fans await developments over his future.

Klopp has brought in Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan this summer to bolster his central defensive options, and with Dejan Lovren also in the squad, it’s unclear as to whether or not there is a place for Frenchman moving forward.
