Cesc Fabregas rumours won’t go away as Chelsea star rejected by La Liga giants

Real Madrid have reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas ahead of the transfer deadline.

The Spaniard has been on the bench for the first three Premier League games of the season, and missed out on Julen Lopetegui’s first La Roja squad this week.

Despite the frustration of not playing regularly and losing his place under Antonio Conte, Fabregas took to Twitter on Sunday to insist that there were no issues at Stamford Bridge and he would continue to fight for his place in the team.

However, that has seemingly not been enough to quieten the talk of a possible exit, with El Confidencial reporting that Real were offered his services but immediately responded by rejecting the opportunity to take him to the Bernabeu.

With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, it remains to be seen whether or not the former Arsenal and Barcelona star remains in west London or secures a move elsewhere.

After struggling last year, along with several of his teammates, which ultimately resulted in a 10th-place finish in the Premier League, it hasn’t been the fresh start that Fabregas would have been hoping for this year.

A move to Real looks highly unlikely also when considering the number of options at Zinedine Zidane’s disposal in midfield, with the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro and others fighting for the same spots.

In turn, it’s no real surprise that they reportedly turned down Fabregas, and so it will have to be another team willing to take on the creative ace or he may face further frustration on the sidelines at Chelsea until January at least.
