Everton have withdrawn their interest in Newcastle United’s star midfielder Moussa Sissoko according to SkySports News.
Per-the-source, the Toffees pulled out of the deal after Tottenaham made a late move for the France international. The report states that Everton had agreed a fee with Newcastle and personal terms with Sissoko.
Everton even had a room ready for the box-to-box midfielders medical.
SkySports go onto state that Tottenham have matched Everton’s £30 million bid for Sissoko and will be hoping they can use the lure Champions League action this season.
Per the source Sissoko was allowed to leave the French national team camp near Paris on Wednesday following Tottenham launching a move to sign him however, Everton emerged as favourites until Spurs reignited interest.
Sissoko has under 30-minutes to complete his move to Tottenham. The north London based club take on Stoke City in their next Premier League fixture on September 10.
