Tottenham have completed the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko according to the official Spurs website.

Spurs beat Everton to the signature of Sissoko after joining the race with a late bid to clinch the deal.

The Sky Sports reported that Everton had made a £30 million bid for the France international and that they were willing to accept payment in five instalments of £6 million but later pulled out the deal following Tottenham’s counter offer.

The North London based outfit have signed Sissoko on a five-year deal which will see the France international stay at the club until 2021.

Tottenham have already assigned their new man the number 17 shirt number.

Sissoko joined Newcastle United in January 2013 scoring a total of 12 times in 133 games for the Magpies.

The powerful midfielder kicked off his career at Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse scoring 23 times in 133 games for the French side.

Sissoko has 44 international caps for France and put on an impressive display in his national team reaching the Euro 2016 final this summer.
