Despite the transfer window closing only four days ago, speculation regarding Manchester United’s star names have already begun circulating.
According to the Italian outlet Tuttosport, the Serie A champions Juventus have set their sights on United’s out-of-favour defender Matteo Darmian.
The report stats that Juve failed in their attempts to sign Darmian over the summer and will make a fresh attempt to sign the Italy international in January.
Darmian is yet to make a Premier League appearance under manager Man Utd’s newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician has so far opted to field Antonio Valencia at right-back, putting Darmian’s future in doubt.
The 26-year-old is being targeted by Juve as a replacement for the ageing Stephan Lichtsteiner. The experinced wing-back is in the final year of his contract with Juve and has lost his place in the starting line-up following the arrivals of Dani Alves and Juan Cuadrado.
