Spain got their 2018 World Cup qualification campaign off to a dream start with an 8-0 victory over Liechtenstein.

It was a great night for Spain but in particular for Manchester City stars David Silva and Nolito.

Silva started for Spain while Nolito was brought on as a substitute at half-time replacing Alacantra.

Nolito provided two assists on the night while Silva scored twice and was involved in one assist.

The City duo contributed to a grand total of five of the eight goals for the European giants.

It was a good night for players from the Premier League in general as Chelsea Diego Costa also scored a brace.

Silva became the fifth all-time top scorer for Spain overtaking Fernando Morientes who had 27 goals.

The experienced attacking midfielder has now found the back of the net 28 times in 105 appearances for the Spanish national team in all competitions.

David Villa is the all time top scorer for Spain after hitting the back of the net 59 times in 97 games.
