Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere regaining fitness by training less

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that Jack Wilshere is regaining his fitness by training less according to the Mirror.

Per-the-source, Wilshere is expected to make his debut for the Cherries this weekend against West Brom. However, Howe has stated that they are keeping the Arsenal loanee wrapped in cotton wool following his recent injury record.

“He has not completed all of the training,” Howe told BBC Radio Solent (via the Mirror).

“We have had to manage his training time on the pitch to make sure we get the balance right between getting him fitter and making sure he does not break down.

“There are certain players who have had serious injuries in their careers that we have to manage. We have to fine-tune the workload that they get.”

Wilshere played 45 minutes in a friendly against the Serie A giants AC Milan last week.

The England international’s career has been blighted by injuries, which have restricted him to just 159 appearances in eight years for the Arsenal.

Last season, Wilshere missed the majority of the Gunners campaign due to an injury and made just three appearances. However, he was still called up to the Euro 2016 squad by former manager Roy Hodgson.

Bournemouth host West Brom at the Dean Court stadium this weekend while Arsenal take on Southampton.
