Man United boss Jose Mourinho to address Pep Guardiola beef in true Alex Ferguson style

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho seems to be on a quest to mend ties with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, according to a report in The Sun.

Per-the-source, Mourinho will invite Guardiola out for a drink after the Manchester derby on Saturday.

The duo have a frosty relationship following their spells in La Liga. Mourinho – who was Real Madrid manager – frequently clashed with the former Barcelona tactician Guardiola.

The Sun states that Mourinho is prepared to take the sting out of their relationship by offering an olive branch.

However, Guardiola made need some convincing as, when he was asked by Noel Gallagher whether he would have a meal with Mourinho, he said it could only happen if the duo bumped into each other.

Manchester United take on City this weekend in the season’s first high-profile derby.

City come into Saturday’s derby with a perfect record but will be without their star striker Sergio Aguero after the FA suspended him for violent conduct.

United have also made a perfect start to their season under Jose Mourinho.

Former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was famous for inviting his opposite number into his office for a post-match drink almost without fail.

Perhaps this is Mourinho trying to be like the Old Trafford legend? Or maybe he’s just tired of beefing?
