Mario Balotelli has popped up on Instagram to throw his support behind Manchester City ahead of Saturday’s derby against Manchester United.

Balotelli, who has just signed for Nice from Liverpool, spent two and a half seasons at the Etihad Stadium between 2010 and 2013, winning the Premier League title and one FA Cup trophy.

Despite leaving City in over three years ago, it seems he still holds the club close to his heart.

Balotelli captioned the above photo with the message: ‘Can’t wait. Nice match on Sunday.Tomorrow… come on City! Always in my heart! Manchester is blue!’

He then said “sorry” to his “friends” Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, adding: “I support you 2 ok.. But city have to win..”

Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and David Silva were also tagged in the post, which was liked 28,000 times in the first two hours.

As hinted at in Balotelli’s message, he hopes to make his Nice debut on Sunday when his new side take on Marseille in Ligue 1.
