Manchester City star Raheem Sterling took to twitter to thank his fans after picking up the August player of the month award.
Sterling responded to his critics with a brilliant start to the season having already scored twice and provided four assists in all competitions.
The England international shared a picture of winning the award on his official twitter account.
Sterling will start today in the derby against rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
