Leeds have won just one of their opening five games and sit one place above the relegation zone.
Manager Garry Monk is already under pressure. The former Swansea boss is hoping the break and work on the training field will yield benefits for his side; starting against the Terriers.
The top three has a very surprising look to it with Fulham and Barnsley sitting behind Huddersfield.
The Cottagers are unbeaten with three wins and two draws and they will hope to add to that against an inconsistent Birmingham side that beat Norwich 3-0 last time out, having previously lost 3-1 to Wolves.
Barnsley meanwhile will have Conor Hourigan, the FPL player of the month for August can add to his tally of goals and assists. The Irish man will be a key figure for the Tykes in their clash with Preston.
Newcastle have climbed to fourth place on the back of three successive wins and they will hope to make it four on the spin in the evening game with Derby. Nigel Pearson’s Rams are having a tough time of late, losing to Burton last time out, and losing top striker Chris Martin, who moved to Fulham in the transfer window.
Rafa Benitez will be looking for maximum points.
QPR with three wins under their belt too take on bottom of the table, Blackburn. The pressure is really beginning to mount for Rovers boss Owen Coyle after a string of poor performances and the side will be desperate for any sort of result at Loftus Road.
The side has yet to win this season and there’s little doubt Jimmy Floyd Hasselabink’s side will be looking to keep up the pressure at the top of the league with another three points.
Norwich will be looking to maintain their home record as they take on a Cardiff side which is yet to win on the road. Anything less than three points would be a disappointment for Alex Neil and his Canaries.
Elsewhere 8th place Brighton are at home to Brentford, Norwich host Cardiff, Bristol City travel to Rotherham, struggling Sheffield Wednesday take on Wigan and Wolves face off against Burton Albion.
