Jamie Carragher criticised the performance of Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba on SkySports Monday Night Football TV how.

The former Liverpool defender stated that he felt sorry for  Marouane Fellaini after being isolated in midfield due to Pogba’s ill-discipline.

Carragher likened Pogba to a kid in the schoolyard but is unsure whether the Frenchman or Jose Mourinho is to blame.

“I think it wasn’t Pep Guardiola that got it right. It was Mourinho that got it wrong,” Carragher stated on Monday Night Football.

“The performance of Paul Pogba: It was ill-disciplined. He was like a kid in the schoolyard, running where he wants and doing what he wants.

“I felt so sorry for Marouane Fellaini. The space in the centre of that pitch and he was left on his own by Pogba.

“He’s either got it wrong or Jose Mourinho’s given him licence to get forward.”

Pogba joined United over the summer for £100m according to the Daily Mail.

City recorded a 2-1 victory over their rivals United at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Red Devils take on Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday before returning to face Watford FC in the Premier League.
