Stats show that Liverpool captain is the best passer in the Premier League

Liverpool beat reigning Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

Reds captain Jordan Henderson started the game and put on an impressive display in midfield considering key players such as Emre Can were missing – Can was ruled out due to injury.

Liverpool revealed after the game via their official Twitter account that Henderson has in fact completed more successful (284) passes than any other Premier League player this season.

The Reds shared another tweet breaking down his Premier League stats further. Henderson has had 387 touches on the ball, completed 284 passes at an 89 percent accuracy.

The England international has also been impressive on the defensive end making 19 tackles and has also contributed in the final third creating five chances in all games this season.

Statistics site Whoscored revealed that Henderson averages 80 passes per game which is more than any other Premier League player.

The Reds moved into 5th place on seven points following the victory, the Foxes meanwhile dropped into 16th place on four points.

Liverpool take on Chelsea next weekend in the Premier League while Leicester host Burnley at home.
