Manchester United will kick start their Europa league campaign with a tricky tie away to Dutch side Feyenoord.
Don’t forget that Paddies have boosted the price on the Manchester Utd win to 5/1 for all Caughtoffside visitors, which is literally dripping in value.
Last season’s fifth best team in the Premier League were rewarded with an uncustomary place in the 2nd tier of European competitions. As such in addition to playing Feyenoord they will also take on Ukrainian side Zorya and Turkish outfit, Fenerbahce.
United did play in the Europa league last season but only after they finished third in their Champions’ league group, beating Midtjylland 6-3 on aggregate only to lose 3-1 to Liverpool in the quarter-final.
Feyenoord v Manchester Utd Tips for the Match
This time round they are in from the start although it remains to be seen how seriously Jose Mourinho takes the competition.
Two men that are unlikely to start are Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard. The pair were ineffective in the weekend defeat to Manchester City and will miss out as a result.
Marcus Rashford, who came on at half-time in Saturday’s Manchester derby to good effect, is set to start in attack while Luke Shaw is set to miss out due to a slight knock.
The absence of Shaw means that Argentina international Marcos Rojo will come in for his first start of the season while fringe stars Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling are all set to feature as Jose Mourinho rings the changes.
Memphis Depay will hope he can get the chance to impress as he returns to his homeland. The former PSV star has yet to start in the Premier League with just one minute of action coming his way so far this campaign.
The teams last met in 1997 in the Champions’ league group stages with United winning 2-1 at home and 3-1 away.
Feyenoord will be confident of success however this time round after a strong start to the season. The club are currently top of the Dutch League with 5 wins from 5.
Dirk Kuyt could be a key man for the home team. The former Liverpool man has scored three goals in his last two games.
This could be a tricky game for Manchester Utd, with Feyenoord storming out of the blocks at the top of Eredivisie having won five out of five games, and the 10/11 on the Utd away win doesn’t exactly set pulses racing considering the Red recent record in Europe.
Things should improve under Jose Mourinho however, and we think we’ve found a tasty 15/8 shot for the match.
Marcus Rashford made an immediate impact in the Manchester Derby and with Mourinho set to give the youngster a starting birth in the side he looks a cracking bet at 15/8 to find the net anytime during the game.
The stage could be set for Rashford to really make a claim for a place in the starting XI at Watford on Sunday and that looks a cracking price.
