The sports pundit and former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has slammed Tottenham chairman David Levy for failing to sign a high-profile striker over the summer.

Collymore’s oppinion article in the Mirror states that Kane’s poor form of late is down to a ‘lack of freshness.’

Kane made a total of 50 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham last season before featuring for England during Euro 2016 over the summer.

Collymore said that Kane looked like an ‘old man’ over the summer and that his club should have eased the load on him by signing a top striker.

The former Liverpool man went onto say that Kane is too young to shoulder the responsibility of scoring on a regular bases for both club and county.

Tottenham will look to return to winning ways today when they take on an out-of-form Sunderland, who are yet to record a victory this season.

Harry Kane is once again expected to start for Spurs up front.
