Manchester United legend Gary Neville revealed that he is still puzzled over Chelsea signing David Luiz over the summer.
Neville revealed that Antonio Conte bringing in Luiz made as much sense as himself dating Miss World.
The metaphor was used to describe just how odd he found the relationship between Luiz and the Blues head coach – considering he had arguably the best defence in Europe during this time in charge of Juventus and his Italian national team defence wasn’t bad either.
“I would never have put those two together (Conte and Luiz). It feels a little bit strange,” Neville was quoted as saying by Goal [via Sky Sports] following Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool.
“If I was to thinking of an analogy to describe it, I’d say probably me and Miss World.”
Luiz made his second debut for the Blues against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Friday but was unable to prevent a 2-1 home defeat.
The Brazilian international did not exactly put on a stellar defensive display and the Blues dropped points for the second week running following the 2-2 draw against Swansea.
The London based outfit take on London rivals Arsenal next in the Premier League.
