Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovich has held crisis talks with club officials until 1 am following the Blues 2-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool according to the Daily Star.
Per-the-source, Abramovich was furious with Chelsea’s display at Stamford Bridge. The report goes onto state that the Chelsea owner is already unhappy with Conte’s performance as manager.
Abramovich is also unhappy with Chelsea already being five points behind leaders Manchester City and has taken objection to Conte waiting until the 84th minute to make his first substitution against Liverpool.
The former Italy national team manager waited until late in the game to make three substitutions. However, £33m Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi was surprisingly left on the bench.
The Daily Star goes onto say that Conte is unhappy with the clubs inability to sign the players he wanted over the summer transfer window.
Chelsea take on Leicester City in the League Cup tonight and rivals Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.
