Chelsea transfer news: Real Madrid warned to back off from star keeper after sending fax message

Chelsea issued a hand off warning to Real Madrid after the Spanish giants sent a bizarre fax message to star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois according to the Sun.

Per the source, Real sent a fax message to Courtois wishing him a speedy recovery after his injury.

Courtois was quoted as saying: “When I got injured they sent me a fax wishing me a speedy recovery.”

There are two interesting points here. First why are Real Madrid sending messages to players via fax and secondly how did Courtois receive the fax – does he really have a fax machine?

Real are reportedly interested in Courtois and the Belgium international is no stranger to football in Spain.

Courtois made 111 La Liga starts for Atletico, featuring in 37 league games three seasons in a row playing an important role in winning the 2013-14 league title and reaching the Champions League final.

The goalkeeper also added the 2012 Europa League and the 2013 Copa del Rey to his list of honours during his time with Atletico.

Courtois’ current contract runs until June 2018, but he plans to make a decision on his Chelsea future in 2017.
