Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has decided to keep Wayne Rooney in his starting lineup despite rotating the rest of the squad.
The experinced striker has come under intense scrutiny following a slow start to the season with many United fans calling for him to be benched.
However, Mourinho has decided against bowing to fan and media pressure and has included Rooney in tonights starting eleven which will take on Northampton.
United come into tonights encounter having lost three games in a row to Man City, Feyenoord and Watford FC. An unthinkable forth defeat will see the pressure on Mourinho mount just months into his tenure at Old Trafford.
United take on the Premier League champions Leicester City this weekend.
