Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho refused to praise Michael Carrick when asked to comment on the midfielder’s performance during a post-match interview, citing that he does not comment on individuals.
However, this contradicts the Portuguese tactician’s very public criticism on Luke Shaw last week (Read more here) following United’s 3-1 defeat to Watford FC.
Mourinho also criticised the referee during his side’s 3-1 win over Northampton in the League Cup. The former Chelsea manager questioned why Northampton’s player didn’t receive a red card for a rash challenge and refused to comment on the penalty decision.
The Red Devils managed to put a stop to their three-game losing streak following tonight’s victory. United host the Premier League champions Leicester City this weekend at Old Trafford.
