Manchester United recored a 3-1 victory over Northampton in the League Cup tonight.
However, when United boss Jose Mourinho was asked ‘what he wanted’ from Wayne Rooney tonight, the Portuguese tactician repeated three times that he wanted goals from the England international.
Rooney was unable to deliver on the night and missed a glaring chance in the first half.

Rooney has come under intense pressure from fans and pundits following a slow start to the season. The 30-year-old was once again outshone by the 18-year-old Marcus Rashford who scored the Red Devils third goal.
United take on the Premier League champions Leicester City this weekend at Old Trafford.
