Manchester United launch ‘monster’ €50m offer for La Liga superstar as Mourinho looks to sort out problem area

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a €50m offer for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos in a bid to bolster their backline.

Since moving to the Bernabeu in 2005, the 30-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of the best players in his position in the world, despite his sketchy disciplinary record.

In turn, it’s no surprise to see him linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Calciomercato reporting that a ‘monster’ €50m is being lined up for the Spanish international.

It’s not the first time that Ramos has been paired with a switch to United, but it remains to be seen whether or not there is real truth behind the latest rumours.

What is certain is that his quality in defence would be a welcome addition for the Red Devils, considering that they’ve only managed to keep two clean sheets in all competitions so far this season.

Jose Mourinho already has various options at his disposal including the likes of Eric Bailly, Daley Blind and Chris Smalling, but he could be forced into considering adding reinforcements if the opportunity to sign Ramos presents itself.

It’s also unclear, and perhaps unlikely, that Real will be willing to sell the Spaniard, but evidently Calciomercato believe that United are ready to test their resolve and lodge a significant bid for Ramos in order to attempt to take him to Manchester next year.
