If you didn’t read about it this morning, Man United boss Jose Mourinho sent the media into overdrive with his comments about Arsene Wenger.
Quotes from an upcoming book ‘Jose Mourinho – Up Close and Personal’ by journalist Rob Beasley were released by The Daily Mail on Friday, and part of the article saw the Portuguese tactician essentially say that he would ‘break his face’ when referencing Wenger and his remarks about the sale of Juan Mata.
The pair have had a heated rivalry over the years and have a complete breakdown in communication, even refusing to shake hands at the Community Shield last year.
From exchanges through the media to shoving matches on the touchline at Stamford Bridge, it’s evident that they simply don’t get on and the latest revelations won’t help calm the storm.
While their next clash comes in November in the Premier League, Mourinho has faced some hefty criticism from football fans on Twitter on Friday in the immediate aftermath of his comments coming to light.
It’s clear that many are not impressed with what he had to say, and further believe that this is typical of him and have slammed his general attitude and approach.
It probably won’t make too much of a difference to him, but it’s fair to say his comments haven’t gone down well at all…
Mou is a disgrace! An absolute embarrassment to himself and his employers. All mouth. The nastiness spews out of him towards everyone.

We’ve seen a lot of managers in English football, but not many, if any, lack class as much as Jose Mourinho. Great manager, but classless.

I’ve never seen a man so obsessed with Wenger, as is Mourinho. The man won’t stop speaking about him both in and out of press conferences.

Anyway Mourinho doesn’t want to run that fade so whatever…man looked like a lost puppy when Wenger shoved him ?

I’ll say this on Mourinho: Last season Wenger and Pellegrini won the war of words by staying silent. Can guarantee Wenger will do that again
