Man United team news: Striker will miss trip, Rooney could get dropped

Manchester United take on reigning Premier League champions Leicester City at Old Trafford today hoping to snap a two game unbeaten run.

United will be without Anthony Martial who will miss the game due to heavy bruising on his calf and ankle according to the BBC.

Per the source, United will also be without Phil Jones but will welcome back Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are fit recovering from their respective injuries.

The Sun meanwhile report that Wayne Rooney could end up being dropped by head coach Jose Mourinho against the Foxes.

Rooney has come under fire after a disappointing start to the season and his performance against Northampton in the League Cup was criticised despite the Red Devils winning the game 3-1.

In other Man United team news Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera impressed against Northampton mid-week and will be hoping for a start against Leicester.

United do have an impressive record against the Foxes and are undefeated in 13 of their last 14 games against the reigning champions.
