Manchester United v Leicester City: Probable line-ups – Schmeichel ruled out

Posted by

Manchester United will be hoping to end a two game losing streak against reigning champions Leicester City at Old Trafford today.

United will be without Anthony Martial due to heavy bruising on his calf and ankle and Phil Jones is also out.

Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are fit after groin and thigh injuries respectively but it remains to be seen if Mourinho will give the Armenian international a chance. The summer signing has been in poor form and his position could come under jeopardy unless he improves.

Leicester City meanwhile suffered a major blow in the lead up to the game after losing star goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel due to a muscle strain injury.

German keeper Rob-Robert Zieler is expected to replace Schmeichel over the next few games until he makes his return.

The Foxes will also be without Marcin Wasilewski who was sent off against Chelsea mid-week and Nampalys Mendy will not be risked.

Leicester City probable line-ups: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Bailly, Shaw; Pogba, Fellaini, Herrera; Rooney, Ibrahimovic, Rashford

Leicester possible starting lineup:
Zieler; Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs; Mahrez, Drinkwater, Amartey, Albrighton; Vardy, Slimani
