Jurgen Klopp ‘tops list of candidates’ for European giants which should cause Liverpool real concern

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly the number one target for Bayern Munich when they look for a successor for Carlo Ancelotti.

The German tactician signed a new six-year deal this past summer, while Ancelotti is expected to remain in Bavaria until the end of next season at least.

However, according to The Daily Star, that hasn’t stopped the Bundesliga champions from planning their long-term future, and it seemingly involves appointing Klopp as their new coach further down the line.

The 49-year-old only joined Liverpool around 12 months ago and is undoubtedly enjoying his time at Anfield and in England, so it’s unlikely that he’ll be moving on any time soon.

As the Reds continue to make good progress, he’ll want to oversee their development and finish the work that he has started on Merseyside.

Nevertheless, if the rumours are true of an interest from Bayern, then it will be difficult for Liverpool to keep him long term and persuade him not to take the biggest job in his homeland despite his history with Borussia Dortmund.

“Jurgen is very highly thought of there. He will top the list of candidates to be the next coach,” a source told the Star.

Given the impact he has made at Liverpool to this point, losing the charismatic German tactician any time in the near future would be a massive blow for the club.

Although they don’t have to worry about his future just yet, should Bayern come knocking when Ancelotti’s time at the club comes to an end, the Premier League giants will be expected to have e a difficult task on their hands in convincing him to stay.
