Manchester United star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was so adamant that Paul Pogba would join him at Old Trafford, that he threatened his agent Mino Raiola to ensure the transfer happened.

According to the Mirror, the big Swede joked with Raiola that he would ‘break his legs’ if the Pogba didn’t end up at United over the summer.

Per-the-source, Raiola – who is the agent of Zlatan, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pogba – netted nearly £40 million for himself from transfer dealings with the Red Devils.

Ibrahimovic joined United on a free-transfer after his contract with PSG expired. Mkhitaryan arrived shortly after from Dortmund before Pogba made his record breaking transfer to Old Trafford from Juventus.

“Zlatan is very important to me,” Raiola told Dutch newspaper De Volskrant (via Mirror).

“He was the first [to sign] and he called me and said, ‘you dare let Pogba sign for someone else and I’ll break your legs.'”

Manchester United put a stop to their losing run in the league with a 4-1 victory over the reigning champions Leicester City on Saturday.

The Red Devils take on Zorya in the Europa League on Thursday.
