Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford may have inflicted some irreparable damage to his Blues career this weekend based on the reaction to his apology.
The 23-year-old took to Twitter on Sunday night to say sorry to supporters after some eagle-eyed fans spotted that he had liked images of Arsenal players Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin celebrating their 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
Wth regards 2the Instagram pics I liked, was only liking my friends pics as I’ve done many a time. No shade or disrespect intended. Sorry!

Bamford, currently on loan yet again this time at Burnley, insisted that he was merely liking his friends pics, and naturally by revealing that he is friends with the likes of Ozil, he has only further infuriated supporters who aren’t buying it.
The forward is struggling again for playing time so far this season and it remains to be seen whether or not he has a future at Stamford Bridge, but based on the reaction to his grovelling apology, it doesn’t appear as though there are too many looking forward to his return.
On one hand you could argue he’s free to like what he wants, but then again, he probably should know better that it wouldn’t reflect very well on him if he wants a future at Chelsea.
@Patrick_Bamford Mesut Ozil is your friend?
