Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin is expected to be facing a significant spell on the sidelines as he was seen at Highgate hospital on Monday.
The Frenchman suffered the knock in the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, with fears growing as he injured the same knee that saw him sidelined for two months last season.
As seen in the image below, taken by @LukeGoldsmith89 on Twitter, Coquelin is still sporting a knee brace, something that Arsene Wenger confirmed in his post-match press conference on Saturday.
It doesn’t look particularly positive for Gunners supporters, and although Wenger will be confident in those in the squad to step up and cover Coquelin’s absence, losing the tenacious midfielder for any period of time will undoubtedly be a setback for the team.
Arsenal face Basel in the Champions League this week before taking on Burnley at the weekend prior to the international break, and it looks certain that Coquelin will be missing for that run of games at a minimum.
