Confirmed Chelsea starting line-up vs Hull City: Fabregas back on bench along with veteran

Chelsea will look to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Arsenal last weekend when they take on Hull City on Saturday.

Antonio Conte has seen his side go three Premier League games without a win, while coupled with their win over Leicester City in the EFL Cup, they’ve now conceded nine goals in their last four outings.

In turn, it’s perhaps not a surprise to see that he’s decided to make changes particularly considering the disappointing display and result at Arsenal.

Cesc Fabregas drops back out of the starting line-up to compound his misery after being left out of the Spain squad for the upcoming World Cup 2018 qualifiers next week, with Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante getting the nod in midfield.

Branislav Ivanovic is on the bench after coming under fire for his recent poor performances, and while John Terry remains sidelined with an ankle injury, it will be down to Gary Cahill and David Luiz to keep things tight at the back with Marcos Alonso coming into the team.

Conte was known for his tactical flexibility during his spells with Juventus and Italy, and given the line-up below, there’s a valid argument to suggest that he could even go with a 4-2-4 against Hull with Eden Hazard moving up alongside Diego Costa.

However, it remains to be seen how Chelsea shape up formation wise, with the ultimate goal to return home with three points and put an end to their recent poor run of form.
