Tottenham duo in line to join long list of stars to pen new deal and commit futures

Tottenham pair Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld are reportedly next on the list to sign new deals with the club as the contract work at Spurs continues.

The duo played an instrumental part in Spurs’ progress last season, where they looked like genuine title contenders for much of the campaign before falling away near the end.

It’s been a busy month or so for the club, as Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Dele Alli have all signed new deals.

According to The Mirror, Lloris and Alderweireld are set to join them in committing their long-term futures to the club as the Premier League outfit continue their strategy of looking to keep key pieces in place for years to come.

Lloris joined the club from Lyon in 2012 and has gone on to make 141 league appearances for Spurs since, while his Belgian teammate arrived last year and immediately proved his class having been an ever-present in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.

Tottenham have started the season in strong fashion again this year, picking up 14 points from their opening six league games to sit third in the table prior to their encounter with Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

With Pochettino also bringing in the likes of Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko in the summer, he’ll be hoping to continue to build a strong squad in north London with a view of consistently challenging for silverware in the years ahead.
