Tottenham secured a 2-0 win over Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday, inflicting a first defeat on Pep Guardiola’s men this season.
A disastrous own-goal from Aleksandar Kolarov handed the hosts the lead early on, as Spurs were in the ascendency for much of the first half and looked by far the better side.
With their constant pressure and closing down, Guardiola’s side were made to look poor and forced into mistakes before Dele Alli produced this composed finish to double the lead for Spurs and ultimately make the game safe.

There was a perfect assist from in-form Heung-Min Son in the build-up as he turned provider following his recent goal glut, although the South Korean international was left frustrated after the break as Erik Lamela forced his way to the front of the queue to take a penalty for the home side.
He went on to miss his spot kick, but ultimately it didn’t matter as Spurs held firm and didn’t really come under intense pressure in the closing stages as they claimed all three points to move within a point of City who remain top of the Premier League table.
