Antonio Conte’s presence at last night’s Fiorentina v Torino game has caused a wave of speculation over which players he might have been watching with an interest of signing for Chelsea.
Blues fans will probably not be best pleased to hear that the number one rumour doing the round, as reported in the Express, is that he was there checking out Joe Hart, the Manchester City goalkeeper on loan at Torino after being booted out of the door of the City of Manchester Stadium by Pep Guardiola.
Thibait Courtois has had some shaky moments in the last year, but has surely shown enough that a bid for a keeper who has shown himself to be seriously error prone isn’t being considered. Chelsea fans would probably rather their manager was looking at the two sides’ centrebacks.
Of course there’s also the chance that Conte was just there enjoying the game in Turin with no ulterior motive – but where’s the fun in that?
