Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has never hidden his desire to play for Real Madrid, and despite being Champions League group rivals with a fixture coming up soon against Los Blancos, the Gabonese has reminded us that his desire is to wear white.
“Madrid is the club of my heart and I promised my grandfather I would play for Real. I hope that someday that will become reality”, declared the Borussia Dortmund player in an interview with Onze Mondial magazine quoted in Marca, in which he revealed that there had already been contact from the Spanish capital with regards to his transfer.
“It’s an objective. I have time. I don’t say it to encourage their interest, … Bad luck.”
In the same interview, Aubameyang confessed that he was on the point of signing for Manchester City in the summer: “My father spoke with them, but it wasn’t formalised. I was close.”
Given his record, its no wonder Europe’s elite are after Aubameyang. The rapid striker scored well over 30 goals in all competitions last year, and now has 60 goals in just 100 league appearances for the German club.
