Manchester United may be in need of reinforcements following a turbulent start to the season but few would have envisioned the Red Devils singing their star strikers’ six year old son.

Its been a pretty bad start to the season for Rooney after being booed by England fans. However, their has been some positive news with his six-year-old son Kai being signed by United’s youth development squad, according to The Sun.

“Wayne and Michael really get into it when they bring their their boys down,” A source told the Sun

“The kids seem to love it and have been coming down regularly in the week to train with the young development squad.

“It’s a bit funny because both their dads aren’t playing as much any more but these guys could be the club’s stars of the future.”

The England international has been having a miserable time at club level after losing his place in Manchester United’s starting line-up. United were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City over the weekend leaving United five points behind leaders Manchester City.

Rooney has managed to score just one goal in ten appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions this season.

Jose Mourinho’s side take on Liverpool in their next Premier League fixture on October 17.
