(Video) Diego Maradona clashes with Juan Veron during a charity game

It may have been labelled the ‘Game for Peace’ in Rome on Wednesday night, but Diego Maradona wasn’t in the mood for a peaceful night.

The Argentine footballing legend was involved in a game that featured numerous stars both current and retired and set up a goal for Roma icon Francesco Totti to provide a sparkle to the night, all for a good cause in an event organised by Pope Francis.

However, things would later turn sour just before half-time as after an incident between the pair saw them clash, Maradona and Veron’s war of words continued as they trudged off the pitch for the interval.

Not content with making his feelings clear in their first coming together, Maradona was looking for a second bite of the cherry but was restrained by his teammates and others involved in the game in order to avoid anything more serious from breaking out.

Thankfully, things calmed down after that but it’s clear that the iconic figure still has some fire in his belly.

See what sparked the altercation in the first video, while the second shows Maradona looking for Veron before heading back to the changing room.
