Fourteen Manchester United players who have played in the Premier League this season were on international duty earlier this month.

Nevertheless, Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho told MUTV on Friday that they all returned to the club fit and well ahead of Monday night’s trip to Liverpool.

Sky’s stats claim that right-back Antonio Valencia travelled 13,207 miles to represent Ecuador, while Ivorian central defender Eric Bailly clocked 6,332 miles.

It was not just United’s players that missioned across the globe, though.

Liverpool playmakers Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino did 12,112 miles each, per Sky’s calculations.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw did not represent their countries during the most recent international break because of injury.

However, both players are now available to face Liverpool, who will start the game three points ahead of their rivals and with a superior goal difference.
