Arsenal have taken to social media to wish their star playmaker Mesut Ozil a happy birthday.

The Germany international turned 28 today and could mark his special day with an assist or goal when Arsenal take on Swansea City in the Premier league at 15:00 (GMT).

Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid back in 2013 and has gone onto become a firm fan favourite after racking up 19 assists in the league last season.

Arsenal shared an image their star midfielder along with the caption, “Happy birthday Mesut Ozil – make it a good one!”

Mesut Ozil is yet to record an assist of Arsenal this season but has netted two goals. The former Real Madrid man came close to breaking Thierry Henry’s Premier League assist record of 20 last team.

Ozil is a slight injury doubt coming into this weekend’s clash after being substituted off at half-time during Germany’s win over Northern Ireland, earlier this week.

Meanwhile in other Arsenal team news, Carl Jenkinson made his return from a nine-month spell on the sidelines last week during Arsenal u23 clash with Southampton in Friday.
