Arsenal legend Paul Merson revealed that he would rather have Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson in his team over Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson revealed right now he would take Henderson over Pogba. He did however, state that over the course of the next decade Pogba may end up overtaking Henderson considering how much United forked out for him.

Merson underlined that Henderson has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season while the French international has struggled.

“Today, Jordan Henderson,” he was quoted as saying Goal [via Sky Sports] when asked who he would pick.

“Over the next 10 years, I don’t know – it probably should be Pogba considering how much money they spent.

“Henderson has been as good as anybody in the Premier League. Credit where credit is due, he’s been outstanding. Pogba has been struggling.”

The two players are set to go head to head on Monday when United take on Liverpool at Anfield on Monday.

Henderson has been in impressive form for the Reds this season and earned himself a call-up to the England national team taking the captains armband off Wayne Rooney against Slovenia.

The 24-year-old midfielder also picked up the Barclays Goal of the Month award for his impressive striker against Chelsea in the 2-1 victory over the Blues.
