‘The Invincibles’ was a term coined back in the 1880’s when Preston North End completed the English league campaign unbeaten. The same feat was not matched until Arsenal over the 2003-04 season.

The Gunners completed their unbeaten run on this day in 2004 and the Arsenal social media account shared a clip on twitter of the victory 3-1 over Aston Villa which resulted in the North London based outfit being named ‘The Invincibles’ in their title winning season.

Arsenal will not be able to complete an unbeaten run in the league this season as they have already tasted defeat but the Gunners are currently joint top in the league after winning their last six games.
